A little bit about Alice…

Hey Y’all! I’m Alice and I am so excited you are here! A few things to know about me that you won’t see on my website’s “About” page:

  • I love beautiful hotels. I deeply believe that when people say a hotel is just a place to lay your head, they haven’t stayed at the right hotel…yet. I love finding the perfect hotels for clients that fit their interests, preferences, and style, but my personal tastes skew colorful, maximalist, unique and art-centric. I’m obsessed with the work of hotel designers Bill Bensley, Kit Kemp, Roman and Williams, and Martin Brudnizki.

  • I am a proud dog mom of rescues: Gus, Kimball and Moira Rose. Yes, she is named after the character on Schitt’s Creek. I love, love, love critters and spotting local fauna will always be the highlight of any trip for me.

  • I can’t see myself living anywhere other than the East Coast. I love humidity. It makes my skin look good and my hair big. I lived in Colorado for over 5 years and will never move back because I missed water so much.

  • I am a college head coach’s wife. You won’t see me travel (too) much from August to November because I hate to miss a game.

  • I studied literature and art history, but dreamed as a child of becoming a fashion designer. I am still passionate about all those areas and am constantly reading up on what is new and next.

  • I have a fear of flying. And NEVER sleep for longer than a few minutes on a flight. But I love seeing new places so much that I just have to suck it up and power through.

  • Before joining the travel industry, I worked in libraries, most recently as the executive director of a public library. My three biggest takeaways after working in libraries for over 10 years are:

    • People are just so interesting and unique! Everyone you encounter deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.

    • Research is a happy place for me. Little is more relaxing to me than a deep dive into a new subject.

    • There are too many amazing books out there to spend your time on one you aren’t enjoying. I think this carries over to a lot of experiences. Life is just too short to waste time on bad, or even mediocre, things!

  • I am bad at finding gifts for specific events (birthdays, holidays), but great at finding the perfect gifts at completely random times.

  • I’m not what one would call a natural athlete, however I love nature-oriented sports (skiing, hiking, snorkeling) and am currently learning to play golf. My poor golf coach is very patient.

  • Truly, there is nothing that feels better than hearing someone say that they loved a trip I helped plan. Being able to not only take the stress of the planning process off their plate, but help create a magical and memorable experience for them brings me so, so much joy.
